This is a painting in the woods in Bute Park Cardiff. It took me somewhat longer than a day to paint there are rather a lot of leaves and I've never been one for over simplification :) It's painted oil on board and is 5 ins x 7 ins.
Welcome to my "Days of Painting" Blog. I decided to set up this blog to do a painting a day. Whilst this is the aim, generally the numbers of paintings I do per day does vary, sometimes I paint more than one painting in a day, sometimes paintings take longer so I thought it would be better to give it a more open title. :) However the aim is to put as many paintings up as possible.
Well I hope you will enjoy seeing my latest paintings and find this blog an inspiration. :) I'm also making many of these paintings available for purchase, through eBay, other auction sites or direct through Paypal.
Some of these paintings or designs adapted from them are also available as prints, greetings cards note cards, button badges and a variety of other products through Cafepress. Many of these along with links to the Cafepress shops can be found in the companion blog Days of Painting Extra

This is an excellent painting of an area I recognise. You have the depths of darkness and the shades of green just right!
Thanks Steve :) Yeah it reproduced quite well in the scan, although my scanner is so ancient it only works properly in Windows 98 LOL
