Ballerina

I have had this little plastic ballerina in top of my computer for a number of years now. She stands with a small teddy bear a Buddha, a sort of mouse thing and a plastic Garfield. Of course they probably all come to life when I'm not looking like in Bag Puss LOL. Anyway I thought the ballerina would make a nice little painting.

Nokia on Wood

Communications have come a long way since the door knocker was invented, in fact you don't even need a door knocker or bell these days you can get your friends to ring you on the mobile. that way you don't need to entertain all those double glazing sales people, TV Licence people or assorted bailifs, Well I've got my artistic licence and I don't have time for such trivialities LOL. This Nokia is my friends old mobile his new one is a smartphone and a lot more up-to-date. So I was demonstrating on my Motorola how to take pictures and snapped a little photo of his old Mobile. I thought it was such a cute peice of yesterday's technology I just had to do a little painting. This painting is one of my smaller works at 3.5ins x 2.5ins. This size is often called Artist Trading Card size or sometimes ACEO size. It's painted oil on board.

Bridgeman Road Penarth. 6ins x 4ins Oil on Board

Penarth is a little seaside town near Cardiff. I decided to take a little trip there the other week and went on the train. I saw this scene opposite the Peir. I thought the sunlight on the patched up road was just amazing. You can see the location on Google Maps here. This painting is 4ins x 6ins and is painted oil on board.

Path in the Woods

This is another painting I did in the woods at Bute Park Cardiff. It's 5 ins x 7 ins and is painted in oils, on board. This painting also took a bit more than a day to paint and I painted it about a month ago, but I thought these woodland paintings would make a nice start to my new daily painting blog :)

Spring in the Woods. Bute Park, Cardiff
